While currently a doctoral student in Jazz Performance at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music, Brooks has wasted no time in his blossoming career creating his own musical portfolio with original music of his own, in addition to collaborating with musicians all over the country to not only provide experiences in new music, but also constantly bringing the joy of classic music of the 20th and 21st centuries to audiences abroad. With roots tracing back to the bustling music scene in Chicago, Brooks has lived in Northwest Ohio, and then near Indianapolis respectively, constantly working in different musical entities that span Jazz, Rock, Salsa, Bollywood, Folk, Electronic Music, and more. These facets, combined with Brooks passion for education, particularly teaching music lessons to young students in underserved communities, provide him with a wide-ranging connection with people of different walks, which then translate into the very musical personality he brings to each performance.
